Job summary

A major supermarket chain in Evansville is seeking a Meat Manager In Training to oversee the meat department. The candidate will handle management responsibilities in the absence of the Department Manager, ensure safety standards, cut various meats, and provide excellent customer service. Candidates must have at least 3 years of experience as a Journeyman Meat Cutter. Flexible hours are required, including weekends.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years experience as a Journeyman Meat Cutter or equivalent related work experience.
• Experience operating a meat saw and grinder.
• Leadership experience as a Head Meat Cutter/Meat Manager preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain strict adherence to department and company safety guidelines.
• Assign duties to the team as needed.
• Cut retail cuts of beef, pork, lamb and veal.
• Grind sausage and order product.
• Ensure company standards for the department are met or exceeded.
