Job summary

Cherokee Town and Country Club in Atlanta, GA is seeking an Assistant Superintendent to manage day-to-day golf course operations. The role requires strong leadership to train a large crew, oversee safety, and interact with members throughout the day.

The position involves contributing to the Master Plan, construction and renovation work, and coordinating with senior staff. A degree in Turfgrass Management and a GA pesticide license within 6 months are required.

Qualifications

• Associate or bachelor’s degree in Turfgrass Management or related field.
• GA pesticide license within 6 months of employment.
• 1–3 years of golf course maintenance experience.

Responsibilities

• Supervise, schedule, and train a large crew of full-time, part-time, and seasonal employees; enforce safety practices.
• Apply fertilizers and plant protectants; calibrate sprayers and record all applications; comply with regulations.
• Perform irrigation scheduling and basic irrigation repairs.
• Execute and manage golf course improvement projects.
• Collaborate with Golf Shop, Events Staff, and other team members.
• Recognize problems and maintain a meticulous eye for detail.
