Job summary

Liberty Mutual Surety is seeking a student for its Surety Underwriting Internship. This 11‑week program combines finance, relationship management, and strategic decision‑making to launch your career in underwriting.

You'll work with experienced underwriters on financial analysis, risk assessment, and customer relationships, gaining hands‑on experience while completing the AF SB curriculum and related training. In‑office options may apply based on location.

Qualifications

Pursuing a bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or comparable with at least one semester remaining after Summer 2027 and a minimum 3.0 GPA.
0–2 years of professional experience.
Strong analytical, decision‑making, and negotiating skills.
Solid interpersonal skills and passion for customer service and fostering relationships.
Available to work full‑time for 11 weeks.
Must have permanent US work authorization.

Responsibilities

Learn how surety bonds support economic growth and infrastructure projects.
Gain hands‑on experience in financial analysis, risk assessment, and relationship management.
Work alongside experienced underwriters to learn underwriting processes.
Assist customers in securing bonding capacity and fulfilling obligations.
