Job summary

Adorama Rental Company in Brooklyn, NY is seeking a motivated Junior Technician to join our cinema equipment rental team. You will prepare, test, maintain, and support professional film gear for productions, shoots, and events; the role is hands-on, fast-paced, and requires strong organizational skills.

Ideal candidates are eager to learn, able to troubleshoot basic issues, and comfortable lifting and moving equipment. Prior rental-house or camera assistant experience is a plus but not required.

Qualifications

• Basic knowledge of professional cinema or video equipment.
• Familiarity with cameras, lenses, monitors, batteries, media, cables, and accessories.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to troubleshoot problems logically.
• Willingness to learn new equipment and processes.
• Previous rental-house, production, camera assistant, or technical experience is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, test, clean, and inspect cinema cameras, lenses, monitors, wireless systems, and related equipment.
• Assist with equipment check-outs, check-ins, packing, and inventory.
• Build and test camera packages according to production requirements.
• Troubleshoot basic technical issues and elevate more complex problems to senior technicians.
• Perform routine maintenance and report damaged or faulty equipment.
• Assist technicians and clients with equipment setup and basic technical support.
• Keep rental equipment organized, labeled, and ready for the next production.
• Maintain accurate records of equipment, accessories, batteries, cables, and other inventory.
• Help load and unload equipment safely when required.
• Follow company procedures for equipment handling, testing, and safety.
• Stay current with new cinema technology and equipment.
• Responsibilities may evolve over time; employees may be asked to take on additional duties as needed to support business priorities.
