Responsibilities

This position involves operating a skid steer for milling and paving operations. Responsibilities include ensuring safe operation, performing non-mechanical maintenance, and maintaining the equipment.

  • Discuss plans and goals with the field manager to determine the best methods for completing work safely, efficiently, and on time.
  • Perform physical duties related to the safe and effective operation of the equipment.
  • Conduct maintenance tasks such as cleaning, greasing, and checking fluid levels.
  • Operate equipment with safety as a priority to protect all personnel around the machinery.
  • Communicate effectively with team members to achieve daily objectives.

Position start date: March 2025

Qualifications
  • GED / HS Diploma is a plus.
  • Minimum of 2 years of skid steer experience in paving/milling operations is required.
  • Relevant work experience is necessary.
  • Valid Driver's License required.

Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:

  • Make judgments on the most efficient use of equipment and attachments.
  • Excellent hand, foot, and eye coordination for safe operation.
  • Adherence to company policies on equipment maintenance, safety standards, and safety policies like "Home Safe Tonight" and "AIPS".

Physical Demands:

Requires heavy physical activity, dexterity, and the ability to operate equipment for extended periods, often in awkward positions. Ability to stand, walk, reach, kneel, climb, and handle materials up to 75 pounds. Visual requirements include close, color, and peripheral vision.

Work Environment:

Safety of self and others is paramount. Conditions vary by site and weather. Work may involve rough terrain, undeveloped sites, and proximity to live traffic.

Travel Requirements:

Overnight travel may be required occasionally. Night and weekend shifts are common during the milling and paving season. Travel within PA, including parts of Delaware and Maryland, is expected.
