Job summary

APAC-AL, Inc., a CRH Company, seeks a skilled Screed Operator to control and operate the screed on an asphalt paving machine in a Southeastern U.S. project environment.

The role requires attention to material depths, pattern consistency, and overall machine performance to meet project specs. You will work within a team focused on paving quality, efficiency, and safety, with duties including minor maintenance tasks and adherence to job specifications.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
• Ability to perform basic arithmetic in all units of measure (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).

Responsibilities

• Prior experience operating the Screed on an Asphalt Paving Machine preferred.
• Operator will control material taken into the paver and the depths of material distributed through the machine.
• Thorough understanding of paving industry aspects including preparatory work, grades, drainage, paving patterns, aggregate size, job specifications, oil consistencies, compaction, and related asphalt paving details.
• The operator is responsible for the efficient working condition of the equipment and is expected to perform minor servicing and maintenance or refer major problems to the supervisor.

This is a highly skilled position involving control and operation of the screed on an asphalt paving machine. Prior experience of actual Sceed Operation preferred. The perfect applicant will have Topcon 5 Electronics experience.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
