Job summary

APAC-AL, Inc., a CRH Company, is seeking a skilled Screed Operator to join our asphalt paving crew in the Southeast U.S. This role involves controlling the screed on an asphalt paving machine, ensuring proper material distribution and adherence to project specs. Prior experience with Topcon 5 Electronics is preferred.

You will work with a safety-focused team, perform routine maintenance, and support the paving operation to deliver high-quality results on each project.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

Responsibilities

• Operate the screed on an asphalt paving machine.
• Control material taken into the paver and the depths of material distributed.
• Understand paving processes including grades, drainage, patterns, aggregate size, and job specifications.
• Perform minor servicing and maintenance or refer major problems to supervisor.
