Job summary

Gray & Son Inc. is seeking an experienced Asphalt Screed Operator to join our construction team in Baltimore, MD. The role focuses on operating the screed to apply asphalt according to project plans and quality specifications, ensuring daily schedules are met.

The operator may be called upon to learn and operate other equipment on the asphalt crew, maintain attention to detail, and contribute to high-quality pavement work across highways, parking lots, and related surfaces.

Responsibilities

• Operate asphalt screed to apply asphalt per plan and quality specifications as instructed by crew superintendent to insure daily schedules/estimates are met.
• Learn to operate other equipment as needed on an asphalt crew.
• Operate asphalt paver/screed within designated area with attention to detail and craftsmanship.
• Manipulate levers to control movements of machine spreads and level asphalt on subgrade of highway and related surfaces (parking lots, streets, etc.).
• Perform additional duties as assigned by Foreman and Superintendent.

• Operate asphalt screed to apply asphalt per plan and quality specifications as instructed by crew superintendent to insure daily schedules/estimates are met. Also must perform additional tasks of other positions as needed and instructed by foreman.
• Ability to operate or initiative to learn to operate other equipment required on an asphalt crew.
• Ability to operate asphalt paver/screed within designated area with attention to detail and emphasis on craftsmanship.
• Manipulates hand or foot levers to control movements of machine spreads and levels asphalt on subgrade of highway and related surfaces such as parking lots, streets, etc.
• Any other duties assigned by your Foreman and Superintendent.
