Job summary

Solterra Materials is seeking a Groundman to perform a variety of physical tasks on construction sites, including operating heavy equipment and using power tools for asphalt work. Great focus on safety and teamwork is required to meet daily production goals.

Applicants should have a high school diploma or GED, be fluent in English, and be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check. This is a full‑time on‑site role with potential travel as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required or preferred.
• Fluent in English (speak, read and write).
• Pre-employment drug screen and background check may be required.

Responsibilities

• Operate heavy equipment and machinery in accordance with job specifications.
• Follow Foreman/Superintendent direction to meet daily production goals.
• Maintain a safe, clean job site and wear PPE per policy.
• Coordinate with crew and contractors to ensure safe traffic control and workflow.
• Inspect and report equipment malfunctions to supervisor or shop staff.
• Perform general labor tasks using hand tools and small equipment as needed.
