Job summary

Martin Marietta offers a 10-week Production Internship designed to provide direct support to Asphalt and Paving operations while gaining hands-on experience in production planning, quality control, safety, and project management.

Current students pursuing engineering or construction degrees will gain exposure to bid processes, material handling, and field coordination, with opportunities to present findings to management.

Qualifications

• Pursuing relevant bachelors degree.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Interest in heavy civil construction and asphalt paving.

Responsibilities

• Assist estimating with cost estimates for asphalt paving, grading, and road projects.
• Review plans, bid packages, and drawings to understand requirements.
• Gather pricing information for materials, equipment, labor, and subcontracted services.
• Support maintenance of estimating databases and historical cost records.
• Participate in bid preparation activities and estimate reviews.
• Learn methods to evaluate risks, production challenges, and profitability.
