Job summary

Heidelberg Materials is seeking a field crew member to operate small paving equipment on job sites in Malvern, PA. You will support paving tasks, perform routine maintenance, and help keep sites clean and safe under supervision. The role emphasizes safety, reliability, and teamwork on active construction projects.

Required is a high school diploma or equivalent, a valid driver’s license, and the ability to lift 50 lbs. Willingness to work day, night, and weekend shifts is essential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma (or equivalency) and prior relevant job experience.
• Valid/Clean Driver’s License.
• Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
• Must be able to work day, night, and weekend shifts due to construction contracts.
• Ability to operate and maintain small paving equipment (tamper, roller, skid steer preferred).
• Working knowledge of methods, materials and tools used in typical site work.

Responsibilities

• Operate small equipment and hand tools on job sites consisting of milling, paving, grading.
• Maintains housekeeping of job site and facilities, ensures equipment is in good working order.
• Follow all company policies and safety procedures and report issues to Foreman/Safety Manager.
• Perform routine inspection and preventative/corrective maintenance on small equipment and hand tools.
• Assist crew with shoveling and cleanup as needed.

What You'll Be Doing

• Operate small equipment and hand tools on a variety of job sites consisting of milling, paving, grading.
• Maintains housekeeping of job site and facilities, ensures equipment is in good working order
• Working knowledge of methods, materials and tools used in asphalt paving, typical site work, grading, etc
• Properly follow all Company policies and procedures for safe working procedures and environment. Report any problems to the Foreman, Superintendent, or Safety Manager.
• Performs routine inspection and preventative and corrective maintenance on small equipment and hand tools if within abilities; escalates issues that are not repairable or safe.
• Routinely assists other members of the crew as needed, including shoveling and cleanup
• Fuel, oil and grease to ensure proper function of equipment and complete associated paperwork
• Performs other related activities as assigned

What Are We Looking For

• High School Diploma (or equivalency) AND prior relevant job experience

Conditions of Employment

• Successful candidate must submit to post-offer pre-employment physical examination, drug/alcohol screen, and background check.

Work Environment

• Role operates primarily in environments where the conditions include moving mechanical equipment, inclement weather, heat, cold, humidity, and elevated noise level.
