Job summary

Knife River Mountain Region in Missoula, MT is seeking a crew supervisor with asphalt paving experience. The role involves coordinating daily activities, ensuring safe work practices, and using HCSS Heavy Job to track production and time.

You will monitor lay down operations, verify measurements and communicate with the supervisor on project progress. The position requires 5+ years in construction with asphalt paving emphasis, a valid driver's license (CDL preferred), and flexibility to work

Qualifications

• 5+ years of construction experience with emphasis on asphalt paving.
• Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.
• Valid driver's license; CDL preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate daily crew activities to maximize productivity and quality.
• Ensure safety procedures are followed and take action to prevent unsafe actions.
• Utilize HCSS Heavy Job to track daily quantities, production reports, and timecards.
• Monitor layout, placement, and compaction of asphalt materials to assure quality.
• Verify measurements, slope and thickness for compliance with specifications.
• Perform miscellaneous duties as directed by supervisor.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate all daily crew activities to maximize productivity and quality
• Perform work safely and take action to prevent any and all unsafe actions or behaviors
• Utilization of HCSS Heavy Job to track daily quantities, use of production reports and daily timecards
• Monitor layout, placement, compaction of asphalt materials and assure quality of working in all aspects of lay down operations
• Verify measurements, slope and thickness for compliance of specifications
• Other miscellaneous duties as directed by supervisor

Minimum Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years construction experience with an emphasis on asphalt paving
• Valid driver's license; a CDL is preferred
• Basic math skills
• Ability to bend, stoop, lift, push, pull and be on your feet for long periods of time
• Assure all safety procedures are followed
• Ability to work flexible shifts which include days, nights, some weekends. Some travel is required.
• Must pass a pre‑employment drug screening and background check
