BrixPavingNorthwest,Inc. seeks a skilled Screed Operator to support public and private paving projects around the Portland metro area. This hands-on role focuses on producing smooth asphalt surfaces through precise screed operation and coordination with the paving crew.

The ideal candidate has prior screed or paving machine experience, strong attention to detail, and a commitment to safety and quality workmanship. We’re an employee-owned company that values growth and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Prior experience operating asphalt screeds and/or paving machines.
• Strong understanding of asphalt paving processes, grades, and tolerances.
• Ability to read and follow project plans and specifications.
• CDL Class A license preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Operate asphalt pavers or screeds to achieve proper grade, slope, depth, and smoothness.
• Adjust paver or screed controls to meet project specifications and surface requirements.
• Work closely with the paving crew to maintain consistent asphalt flow.
• Monitor quality and make real-time adjustments as needed.
• Perform daily inspections and basic preventive maintenance on screed equipment.
• Ensure compliance with project plans, specifications, and quality standards.
• Follow all DOT, OSHA, environmental, and company safety procedures.
• Work flexible hours, including daytime, nighttime, and weekends as required by schedules.
• Maintain a respectful, team-oriented, and safety-focused work environment.
