Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training in heavy equipment operation preferred.
• 2+ years of experience operating heavy equipment, with experience in an asphalt setting preferred.
• Knowledge of asphalt paving, roadway construction, and milling operations.
• Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with a variety of audiences.
• Strong analytical skills, with the ability to analyze project data and identify trends and opportunities for improvement.

Responsibilities

• Operate asphalt milling machines to remove asphalt pavement to specified depths and grades.
• Monitor milling depth, slope, and grade to ensure compliance with project specifications.
• Ensure safety, efficiency, and high quality of work.
• Maintain equipment and perform basic repairs as needed.
• Communicate with crew members and subcontractors to meet schedule and budget.
• Develop and maintain relationships with crew members and subcontractors to ensure awareness of schedules.
