Ten Mile is looking to hire self-motivated and career-driven individuals experienced in, or willing to learn, asphalt paving immediately. Candidates must be willing to both perform labor and learn to operate asphalt paving equipment, if not already familiar with equipment operation and techniques. The starting rate is $30 and up when laying "hot mix" asphalt. Year-round work opportunities in other divisions of the company are available during winter months.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Operate various types of asphalt paving equipment including pavers, rollers, skid steers, milling machines, and tack and tarring machines.
• Prepare construction sites by removing debris and waste, and assist in site cleanup.
• Perform manual tasks such as shoveling, raking, and finishing asphalt, concrete, dirt, or other aggregates.
• Assist in placing and moving traffic control devices and managing traffic patterns on construction sites.
• Maintain a safe and clean work environment, handle materials and tools properly, and ensure equipment is kept in good condition.
• Use PPE such as hard hats, safety glasses, ear protection, high-visibility vests, steel-toe boots, and gloves at all times on site.
• Follow all safety protocols and report any safety issues to supervisors.
• Perform additional duties as needed, including assisting other divisions of the company.
• Show initiative, willingness to learn, and ability to work as part of a team.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

• Preferred experience in asphalt paving and/or road construction.
• Pass pre-employment drug screening and criminal background checks.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Medical Examiner's Certificate for DOT vehicles.
• Willingness to work holidays, weekends, nights, and overtime as needed.
• Adherence to all safety policies and procedures.
• Professional attitude and courteous behavior towards clients and colleagues.
• Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Report to work on time and pay attention to detail.

Environment
This position involves outdoor work in various weather conditions, with moderate to high noise levels due to machinery operation.
