Job summary

APAC-AL, Inc., a CRH company, seeks a reliable general laborer for road construction projects on a heavy highway crew or on a production crew in Alabama. You will perform a wide range of manual tasks, including shoveling, raking, traffic control, moving materials, and assisting with forming and pouring concrete, while upholding safety and housekeeping standards.

Prior experience in heavy highway construction is preferred.

Qualifications

• Prior construction experience preferred.
• Familiarity with asphalt and equipment operating skills would be beneficial.
• Basic tools and their uses; basic mathematical and measurement skills required.
• Ability to lift up to 30 pounds repeatedly and maintain good attendance.

Responsibilities

• Will perform a wide range of general laboring duties on road construction projects on a heavy highway crew or on a production crew.
• Shovel, rake, traffic control, move materials, and assist with setting and stripping concrete forms; pours concrete and operate vibrators.
• Maintain good housekeeping and safety regulations on the job site.
• Support site operations and comply with CRH safety policies.

Prior Experience In Heavy Highway Construction Preferred.

Will perform a wide range of general laboring duties on a road construction project on a heavy highway crew, or on a production crew. Including but not limited to: shoveling, raking, traffic control, moving materials, setting forms, strips and cleans concrete forms, pours concrete, shovels, vibrates, and maintains good housekeeping and safety regulations. Experience working around Asphalt and equipment operating skills would be beneficial.

Requirements

• Must be able to repetively lift up to 30 pounds, walk, stoop, squat, sit, kneel and be capable of passing required physical examination
• Knowledge of basic tools and their uses, basic mathematical and measurement skills (adding, subtracting, division, & multiplication
• Prior construction experience preferred
• Maintain reliable attendance, meeting company standards, and maintain a positive attitude.
