Job summary

Barnhill Contracting Company is seeking an asphalt laboratory technician to perform density and roller pattern tests on plant-produced mix in accordance with NCDOT specifications. Accuracy and timely reporting of results are essential for project success.

Ideal candidates have 1+ years in an asphalt lab, possess a valid driver's license, and are willing to train and work long hours. NCDOT certification is preferred but not required. Strong attention to detail and reliability are essential assets.

Qualifications

• 1 year experience or more in an asphalt lab.
• NCDOT Certification preferred, but not required.
• Willing to train the right person.
• Must be at least 21 yrs old.
• Valid Drivers License.
• Maintain accurate records and reports.
• Operate and maintain Density gauge equipment.
• Must be a self-starter and motivated individual with good communication skills.
• Must be a reliable/trustworthy team player.
• Be willing to work long hours associated with this position.

Responsibilities

• Perform asphalt density test and roller patterns test on plant produced mix in accordance with NCDOT specifications.
• Perform accurate testing duties and properly prepare, maintain, and report accurate results in a timely manner.
