Sunrock Industries is seeking an Asphalt Distributor Operator to operate and maintain an asphalt distributor truck on North Carolina road projects. This field-based, CDL-driving role involves spraying tack coat and liquid asphalt, supporting paving crews, and complying with DOT safety standards.

Ideal candidates will have construction trucking or heavy equipment experience, be prepared for 8–14 hour shifts, and work outdoors on active road sites with overtime opportunities and strong benefits.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Operate an asphalt distributor truck safely and efficiently.
• Apply liquid asphalt, tack coat, and emulsion to road surfaces.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections.
• Complete required DOT and company safety reports.
• Conduct basic truck maintenance and follow safety standards.
• Support paving crew operations when distributor is not in use.
• Work outdoors on road construction sites.

About The Role

Sunrock is hiring an Asphalt Distributor Operator to operate and maintain an asphalt distributor truck used in road construction, paving, and heavy civil projects. This role is essential to the paving crew and involves spraying asphalt tack coat, seal coat, and liquid asphalt materials on highways, roadways, and construction sites.

This is a hands‑on, field‑based CDL driving role for someone experienced in construction trucking, paving operations, or heavy equipment operation.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate an asphalt distributor truck safely and efficiently
• Apply liquid asphalt / tack coat / emulsion to road surfaces
• Perform pre‑trip and post‑trip inspections
• Complete required DOT and company safety reports
• Conduct basic truck maintenance (greasing, fluid checks, upkeep)
• Follow OSHA, MSHA, and company safety standards
• Support paving crew operations when distributor is not in use
• Work outdoors in road construction environments

Required Qualifications

• Class B CDL (Commercial Driver’s License)
• Tanker Endorsement
• HazMat Endorsement
• Experience operating construction trucks or heavy equipment
• Ability to work long shifts (8–14 hours)
• Ability to work in outdoor construction environments

Preferred Experience

• Asphalt distributor operation

Physical & Work Environment

This Is a Physically Active Construction Job That Includes
