Job Description Summary

• Crew member essential to the application of asphalt/tack on highway/roadways/parking lots/driveways.

Requirements

• Operate asphalt distributor truck.
• Set spray bar on manual, automatic, or semi-automatic distributors for applying liquid asphalt.
• Physical ability to operate distributor and to perform manual labor as needed, such as shoveling or raking, under extreme temperatures and for extended hours of time. Normal shift is 8-12 hours.
• Ability to follow verbal instruction via crew foreman to assist in other positions if needed.
• Ability to apply liquid from distributor to designated area with attention to detail and emphasis on craftsmanship.
• Initiative to perform or assist with other positions for job completion.
• Ability to follow traffic control instructions and practice safety standards per company policy.
• Maintain and service equipment, oil and grease, and make normal operating adjustments.
• Perform other related duties such as shoveling, setting string line, and adding or removing screed extensions.
• Maintain attendance in accordance with company policy to ensure crew efficiency.
• Maintain a courteous and professional manner with co-workers, customers, and the public.
• Be flexible with last‑minute schedule changes, location changes, and shift changes. Overtime work required. Out‑of‑town/county/state work may be required.
• Adhere to personal protective equipment (PPE) policy and maintain individual PPE in functional condition.
• Must pass a drug test and criminal background check.
