Job summary

Sunland Asphalt seeks an experienced Tack Truck - Distributor Operator to join our team in the Phoenix area. The role involves safely operating distributor trucks and related heavy equipment used in paving projects, while following DOT and company safety standards.

You will perform pre/post trip inspections, manage product handling, and support on-site labor as needed. A Class A CDL is required, with Hazmat/tanker endorsement possible depending on the department.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is preferred.
• 6 months to 1 year related experience is preferred.
• Must be fluent in English (reading, writing, speaking).
• Willingness to travel to any jobsite as needed.
• Current Class A CDL license is required.
• Hazmat or tanker endorsement may be required depending on position.

Responsibilities

• Operate distributor truck and related heavy equipment safely.
• Perform daily pre-post trip inspections with DOT-compliant logs.
• Maintain product logs and report fuel/oil inventory as required.
• Set spray bar on distributors and apply asphalt per specifications.
• Assist in general labor tasks and site housekeeping as needed.
• Follow Sunland's safety policies and participate in training.
