Job summary

Kent Rubber Supply is seeking a Shipping & Receiving Associate at our Grand Rapids facility. You will manage daily shipping and receiving activities, ensuring accuracy, on-schedule orders, and clear communication across departments.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years of shipping/receiving experience, familiarity with ERP/WMS, and the ability to lift 50 lbs. No CDL required; driving duties may be involved.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in shipping, receiving, or inventory control.
• Familiar with ERP or warehouse management systems (Tribute TrulinX a plus).
• Ability to lift 50 lbs occasionally.
• Clean driving record and ability to drive delivery vehicles (no CDL).

Responsibilities

• Process and sort incoming and outgoing products to ensure accuracy and on-schedule orders.
• Handle freight with UPS, LTL, and truck carriers.
• Coordinate with Purchasing and Customer Service to resolve discrepancies and track deliveries.
• Assist inventory control and enter received goods; reconcile variances.
• Ensure packaging, labeling, and documentation meet requirements.
• Provide backup for local deliveries using Kent Rubber vehicles.
• Communicate shipment status with carriers and internal teams.

Shipping & Receiving Associate - Kent Rubber Supply

Kent Rubber Supply, a leader in industrial hose, gasket, and seal solutions, is looking for a hands-on, detail-driven Shipping & Receiving team member to support daily shipping and receiving at our Grand Rapids facility. This position plays a vital role in maintaining accuracy, efficiency, and communication between departments to keep our supply chain moving smoothly.

What You'll Do:

• Process and sort incoming and outgoing products, ensuring all orders are processed accurately and on schedule.
• Freight handling, including UPS, LTL, and truck carrier shipments.
• Work closely with the Purchasing and Customer Service departments to resolve order discrepancies, track deliveries, and support customer commitments.
• Assist with the inventory control systems, ensuring timely entry of received goods and reconciliation of any variances.
• Ensure all packaging, labeling, and documentation meet customer and quality requirements.
• Support logistics coordination between the Grand Rapids and Norton Shores locations.
• Provide back-up support for delivery drivers by performing local customer deliveries with a Kent Rubber vehicle.
• Communicate proactively with carriers, vendors, and internal teams regarding shipment status and scheduling.

About You:

• 3+ years of experience in shipping, receiving, or inventory control (industrial or distribution background preferred).
• Strong teamwork and organizational skills - you know how to work well with a team while keeping accuracy top of mind.
• Familiarity with ERP or warehouse management systems (Tribute TrulinX experience is a plus).
• Knowledge of freight coordination, LTL, and carrier systems.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs occasionally and manage a physically active department.
• Comfortable working cross-functionally with Purchasing, Sales, and Quality teams to resolve issues quickly and effectively.
• Will need a clean driving record and be capable of driving delivery vehicles ranging from a minivan to a box truck. No CDL required.
