Job summary

Fletcher Technical Community College seeks an Adjunct Nursing Instructor to lead evening and weekend clinical instruction in Schriever, LA. You will supervise students in clinical settings, provide feedback, and collaborate with clinical partners to ensure alignment with curriculum.

Required are a current Louisiana RN license and a master's in nursing (or BSN with MSN plan within two years). Travel to clinical sites may be required; mileage reimbursement is provided where applicable.

Qualifications

• Current, unencumbered Louisiana RN license.
• Minimum two years of clinical nursing practice.
• Experience in obstetrics, pediatrics, or mental health preferred.

What You'll Do:

• Lead engaging clinical instruction during evening and weekend assignments, with simulation lab instruction as applicable.
• Supervise and evaluate students in clinical settings, helping them develop critical thinking and nursing skills.
• Provide timely, constructive feedback, mentor students, and connect those who need additional support with college resources.
• Collaborate with clinical partners to review learning objectives and evaluate clinical learning environments.
• Prepare course materials and syllabi aligned with approved curriculum; maintain accurate attendance, progress, and grading records.
• Create a respectful, accessible learning environment and meet college, LCTC, and accreditation requirements.

Required Qualifications:

• A master’s degree in nursing from a regionally accredited institution; or a bachelor’s degree in nursing from a regionally accredited institution with intent to enroll in an MSN program within two years of employment.
• A current, unencumbered Louisiana RN license.
• At least two years of clinical practice as a registered nurse.
• Relevant specialty experience for assignments in obstetrics, pediatrics, or mental health.
• Strong communication, organization, instructional, and computer skills—and a student-centered approach.

Preferred Qualifications:

• College-level nursing teaching experience is preferred.
• Evening and/or weekend clinical assignments; some assignments may require out-of-town travel. Mileage is reimbursed according to Louisiana Travel Policy guidelines.
• Respond to student questions within 24 hours on workdays and 48 hours on weekends, consistent with division procedures.
• Complete required training, professional development, and academic reporting by established deadlines.
