Job summary

Calgon Carbon | A Kuraray Company is seeking an experienced Welder II LAV for ASME pressure vessels in Pittsburgh, PA. The role involves welding vessels and piping with FCAW, GTAW, GMAW, SMAW, and SAW, reading drawings, and maintaining weld logs. On-site testing is required.

The position emphasizes safety, quality, and documentation, with rotating shifts and overtime opportunities. A starting wage of $29.79 per hour plus a structured progression and a $1,000 new-hire retention bonus are offered.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience welding pressure vessels or pipe (FCAW required).
• High school diploma or trade school certification (welding preferred).
• Ability to pass on-site weld qualification testing.
• Strong attention to safety, quality, and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Perform ASME code welding on pressure vessels, piping, and structural components.
• Weld using FCAW, GTAW, GMAW, SMAW, and SAW.
• Work with carbon steel, stainless steel, and nickel-based alloys.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings and weld procedures.
• Complete ASME weld logs and quality documentation.
• Pass non-destructive testing (NDT) for pressure-retaining welds.
• Use overhead cranes, jib cranes, and forklifts safely.
• Inspect and repair welds to meet code and quality standards.
• This is hands-on, high-skill welding---not light fabrication or bench work.
