Job summary

The State of Maryland is seeking Enhanced Services Teacher Aides who will work with students with moderate to severe disabilities. Responsibilities include tutoring, supervising lunch and recess, and assisting in behavior management.

A high school diploma or GED is required, along with fluency in ASL and written English. Employees may be eligible for health benefits and should be prepared for a criminal background check.

Qualifications

• Fluency in ASL and written English is required.
• Experience in working with deaf and hard of hearing students is desired.
• Knowledge of students with additional disabilities.

Responsibilities

• Work with individual or small group on special learning tasks.
• Assist with behavior modification and training programs.
• Help prepare teaching materials for the classroom.

Skills

Fluency in ASL

Knowledge of Deaf community

Experience with deaf/hard of hearing students

Ability to teach on different levels
