Job summary

The State of Maryland is seeking a qualified individual for the position at Maryland School for the Deaf. Qualifications

• Fluency in American Sign Language and written English required.
• Candidates must be eligible for or willing to obtain certification by the Maryland State Department of Education.
• Knowledge of teaching students with additional disabilities.

Responsibilities

• Assess and teach Deaf students, implementing Maryland’s state standards and developing IEPs.
• Create a conducive classroom and maintain lesson plans based on assessments.
• Utilize effective classroom management for optimal learning.

Skills

Fluency in American Sign Language

Education

Bachelor's degree

Master's degree in Education or Special Education of Deaf students (preferred)
