Job summary

Edmonds School District seeks a certificated Deaf/Hard of Hearing Elementary teacher (1-5) for Madrona K-8 School beginning with the 2026-27 school year. This .8 FTE position includes a .2 FTE non-continuing assignment for the 2026-27 year.

The candidate will plan and deliver instruction for Deaf and hard-of-hearing students, use American Sign Language, and develop IEP-based goals. Proficiency in ASL and written English is required; Deaf Education endorsement is preferred.

Qualifications

• Must have WA teaching certificate with special ed endorsement or ability to obtain before start date.
• Graduate-level training in Deaf Education.
• Fluent in American Sign Language and written English.

Responsibilities

• Plan and provide educational activities for Deaf/Hard of Hearing students.
• Utilize ASL to communicate with students and staff.
• Develop and implement student goals based on IEPs.
• Be proficient in sign language for instruction and communication.
• Experience in Deaf Education setting preferred.
