Qualifications

• Master's degree or higher in Teaching ASL as a Foreign/Second Language, Education, Linguistics, Deaf Studies, Interpreting, or closely related field.
• Native or near-native fluency in American Sign Language (ASL).
• Demonstrated knowledge of ASL linguistics and use of ASL in language instruction.
• Knowledge of Deaf culture and Deaf history.

Responsibilities

• Plan and organize instruction to maximize student learning.
• Teach assigned classes and hold office hours in accordance with university policy.
• Prepare, evaluate, and return homework and exams in a timely manner.
• Maintain accurate records of student progress and submit final grades.
