Job summary

Cherokee County School District - Substitute Hearing Impaired Interpreter in Canton, GA. This hourly substitute role supports students who are deaf or hard of hearing, interpreting between teachers and students, and assisting on field trips and school activities.

Preferred is American Sign Language certification; position reports to the Principal and follows a 180-day contract schedule. Immediate start is available with pay posted hourly.

Qualifications

• American Sign Language certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Interpret teachers, classmates and other school personnel’s language for deaf/hard of hearing students.
• Translate deaf/hard of hearing students’ language to teachers, classmates and other school personnel.
• Assist deaf/hard of hearing students on field trips and activities.
• Substitute when necessary in deaf/hard of hearing instructor’s absence.
