Baptist Health is currently hiring an American Sign Language Interpreter in our Office of Interpreting Service at Baptist Hospital located in Jacksonville, FL. This is a PRN opportunity.

You will interpret clearly and accurately between languages for caregivers and patients with limited English proficiency, and may assist with sight translation of documents. The role supports a diverse, tight-knit health system environment in Jacksonville.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years interpreting experience
• High School Diploma Required
• 40-60 Hour Medical Interpreter Training Course Required
• Medical Translator Certificate highly preferred

As a Language Interpreter, you will be responsible for:

Clearly and accurately interpreting between target language and source language for caregivers and patients/companions who have limited proficiency in English.

You will work with a diverse group of people across the entire health system, working with numerous cultures. The interpreters are respected and they work in a great tight knit environment!

Must have 3-5 years Interpreting experience

Highly preferred to have Medical Translator Certificate

Experience Requirements:

Three-Five Years Interpreting Experience Required

Three-Five Years Foreign Language Experience Required

Education & Credential Requirements:

High School Diploma Required
