Job summary

Birch Agency seeks a skilled Sign Language Interpreter (SLI) to support deaf or hard-of-hearing students in a Fayetteville, NC school setting. You will provide ASL interpretation across classrooms, activities, and meetings to ensure access to instruction.

Ideal candidates are fluent in ASL with experience in educational interpretation and strong teamwork skills. This is a school-based, full-time schedule under a contract arrangement in Fayetteville, North Carolina.

Qualifications

• ASL fluency is required.
• Educational interpreting experience preferred.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Knowledge of school-based terminology preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide ASL interpretation for students during classroom instruction, activities, meetings, and educational settings.
• Interpret lectures, discussions, classroom activities, assemblies, and school events.
• Facilitate effective communication between students, teachers, peers, administrators, and staff.
• Adapt interpretation methods to meet individual students' needs and learning styles.
• Support student participation in academic, extracurricular, and social activities.
• Prepare and review instructional content to ensure accurate interpretation.
