Job summary

BlazerJobs, Inc. is seeking experienced sign language interpreters to support middle and high school students in California.

This on-site, full-time contract role involves interpreting for deaf/hard-of-hearing students, assisting with reading, writing, math, and more, and promoting inclusion across classrooms and community activities. Flexibility to cover various academic, vocational, and life-skill settings is valued, with collaboration with teachers and school staff.

Qualifications

• Certification from the National Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf, EIPA 4.0+ or NAD/ACCI preferred
• Strong receptive and expressive skills in American Sign Language
• Ability to interpret sign-to-voice and voice-to-sign in educational settings

Responsibilities

• Accurately interpret between deaf/hard of hearing students and peers, teachers, and staff
• Assist students academically (reading, writing, math, and more)
• Encourage student engagement during classroom, outdoor, and community activities
• Foster inclusion and understanding in all interactions
• Adapt to changing needs of students and educational teams
