Job summary

CSUN seeks an Intermittent/Hourly Interpreter to provide skilled English-ASL communication access across classrooms, meetings, seminars, and conferences. The role requires fluent sign-to-voice and voice-to-sign interpretation in complex academic environments.

You will support deaf and hard-of-hearing professionals, mentoring others and may involve on-call hours; this temporary-renewable position ends date to be determined.

Qualifications

• Sign language proficiency and knowledge of Deaf culture.
• Ability to provide accurate sign-to-voice and voice-to-sign interpretation in academic environments.
• Experience interpreting in diverse academic and meeting settings is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Interpreting in academic classes requiring rapid interaction with technical vocabulary.
• Interpreting at department, college, and university-level meetings.
• Interpreting in conferences, workshops, or events with multiple participants.
