Job summary

The Wisconsin School for the Deaf in the Division of Access and Opportunity seeks an Educational Assistant (80% FTE) for the 80% school-year progression classification. You will support students in a bilingual ASL-immersive environment, assisting teachers and staff to address academic, behavioral, social, and communication needs.

On-site role at the Wisconsin School for the Deaf in Delavan, with a 6:15am–3:30pm schedule and ASL proficiency required; licensure eligibility for Special Education

Qualifications

• Have experience working with students in an educational setting.
• Have American Sign Language fluency.
• Be licensed or have eligibility for licensure as a Special Education Program Aide (O070) with the Department of Public Instruction.

Responsibilities

• Provide assistance to teachers and students in the prescribed educational programs as directed by professional staff.
• Provide direction and/or assistance in non-classroom activities.
• Participate in professional growth and development training.
• Maintain a healthy, safe, and secure environment.
