Global Language Connections, in the Chicago area, seeks experienced interpreters for a 1099 independent contractor role. You choose your availability and accept assignments that fit your schedule.

Interpreters provide accurate, impartial interpretation between patients and healthcare providers, travel within the service area, and use GLC's scheduling platform. Must be fluent in ASL and English, with HIPAA confidentiality in mind.

Qualifications

• Fluency in American Sign Language (ASL) and English.
• Healthcare/medical setting experience preferred.
• NIC/CI/CT or equivalent certification preferred.
• Reliable transportation and willingness to travel within the service area.
• HIPAA compliance and ability to maintain confidentiality.
• Professional demeanor and strong communication skills.
• Background check required.

Responsabilités

• Interpret accurately and impartially between patients and healthcare providers
• Maintain professional boundaries and confidentiality at all times
• Complete interpreting encounter documentation as required
• Respond to scheduling requests via GLC's scheduling platform
• Travel between facilities within the assigned market as needed
