Job summary

Easterseals New Jersey is seeking an Employment Specialist – South NJ to help individuals who are deaf or hard of hearing secure and maintain employment. You will build partnerships with local employers and provide job coaching, training, and reasonable accommodations to support long-term success.

The role requires a bachelor’s in Human Services (or related) with relevant experience, ASL fluency, and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Assists individuals in overcoming employment barriers and developing vocational goals.
• Develops personalized employment plans using person-centered strategies.
• Builds and maintains employer networks to promote inclusive hiring and program services.
• Provides on-the-job training, support, and counseling related to disability and workplace needs.
• Represents the program at meetings, networking events, and conferences.

Responsibilities

• Assist consumers in overcoming employment barriers, developing skills, and achieving vocational goals through job coaching and employability training.
• Develop and execute personalized employment plans using person-centered strategies.
• Build employer networks and conduct ongoing outreach to promote hiring diversity and program services.
• Offer on-the-job training, support, and counseling related to disability and workplace needs.
• Represent the program at meetings, networking events, and conferences.
