Job summary

The Minnesota State Academies is seeking substitute teachers for the Minnesota State Academy for the Deaf (MSAD) in Faribault. You will teach deaf/hard of hearing students and assist in delivering instructional programs under supervision.

The role requires an active Minnesota teaching license (Short Call Substitute) and fluency in American Sign Language, with strong English-reading/writing skills and a focus on student development. Position follows the school calendar and offers benefits package.

Qualifications

• Valid Minnesota teaching license at minimum a Short Call Substitute License.
• Knowledge of deaf/hard of hearing and deaf/blind students and educational practices.
• Fluency in American Sign Language.
• Ability to read and write English sufficiently to understand policies and education plans.

Responsibilities

• Substitute teachers in the classroom teaching deaf/hard of hearing students.
• Under general supervision, contributes to the design and delivery of academic instructional programs for deaf/hard of hearing or deaf/blind students.
• Provides educational instruction and uses techniques to encourage appropriate behaviors.
