Job summary

Aya Living Inc. is seeking an ASL fluent Direct Support Specialist to work in residential and community settings, supporting clients with developmental disabilities andBehavior challenges.

The role reports to the Service Support Coordinator and requires strong communication with clients and the team. The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma, at least 12 months of direct support experience, CPR/First Aid certification, and fluent ASL.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or equivalent required.
• 12+ months direct support experience in residential/community setting with similar needs.
• Current CPR/First Aid Certification
• Fluency in American Sign Language (ASL) required

Responsibilities

• Work with clients ensuring service delivery complies with legislation, Aya Living’s policies and contract requirements.
• Promote clients’ equality, diversity, choices and rights.
• Develop professional relationships and maintain effective communication with clients and relevant parties.
• Assess client needs, gather information and contribute to service planning and delivery.
• Keep accurate records, maintain confidentiality.
• Contribute to safeguarding and report incidents appropriately.
• Promote wellbeing, safety, and security of clients at home and in the community.
• Administer first aid and medication as required and appropriate
