Job summary

PeopleInc is seeking an Education Specialist for American Sign Language in Buffalo, NY. The role reports to the ASL Coordinator, coordinating ASL teachings and activities, updating the curriculum, and supporting growth of services.

You will engage with schools and organizations to promote Deaf cultural competency in the community. The position involves direct ASL instruction, collaboration with staff, and using technology to support remote and hybrid teaching.

Qualifications

• Fluent in ASL and able to communicate with diverse learners.
• Associate’s degree in ASL or Deaf Studies; 3+ years of related experience preferred.
• Comfortable using MS Office and Google Classroom for instruction and assessment.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct ASL instruction as part of the program.
• Coordinate curriculum updates and maintain current/asl program standards.
• Support remote and hybrid teaching with technology and instructional resources.
• Engage in outreach to schools and organizations to promote Deaf cultural competency.
• Track ASL program activities and report outcomes to the ASL Coordinator.
