Job summary

Strategies to Empower People (STEP) in the Greater Sacramento area is hiring a full-time Employment Support Staff to provide on-site work instruction and support for a deaf adult with an Intellectual and/or Developmental Disability. The role requires strong American Sign Language (ASL) skills and a compassionate, patient approach.

Responsibilities include modeling workplace behavior, providing hands-on support, teaching communication, and helping clients grow independence and job skills.

Qualifications

• Must be 18+ with a high school diploma, GED, or Certificate of Completion.
• Must have at least one year of professional, relatable experience.
• Must be a driver with CA Driver License, current auto insurance, and a clear MVR.
• Strong American Sign Language (ASL) skills required.

Responsibilities

• Modeling appropriate behavior at the workplace.
• Providing hands-on support to clients at their job site.
• Supporting with self-advocacy and independence.
• Teaching workplace communication and appropriate behavior.
• Promoting personal growth and health management.
