Modern Support Services is hiring an ASL Direct Support Professional to empower adults with I/DD in the Los Angeles area. You will mentor, teach, and advocate using ASL to support independence and community participation.

You will work in a team-based environment, demonstrating patience, empathy, and strong communication. This role offers meaningful work with opportunities for growth and a supportive culture.

Qualifications

• Ability to communicate in American Sign Language (ASL).
• Strong judgment and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
• Age 21 or older, reliable transportation, CA driver license, background check.

Responsabilités

• Provide direct support to individuals with I/DD using ASL to communicate and foster independence.
• Accompany individuals to community activities, appointments, and outings promoting inclusion.
• Assist with personal care and daily living tasks maintaining dignity and safety.
• Support development of social skills and peer relationships through positive interactions.
• Collaborate with team, families, and supervisors to follow support plans and share observations.
