Job summary

Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles is seeking an ASL Clinical Interpreter to facilitate communication between physicians, nurses, patients and families. The role requires sensitivity to diverse populations and professional interpretation skills.

Under supervision of licensed caregivers, you will handle interpretation, session statistics and office duties, with a flexible schedule. Preferred candidates have a Bachelor's in linguistics or related field and RID NIC certification.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED, (Minimum)
• Bachelor's Degree in Linguistics, foreign languages, translation and interpretation, (Preferred)
• 2 years experience as an ASL translator in a health care environment (minimum)
• RID NIC certification (Preferred)
• 90 Days - Medical Center Interpreter Services training (Minimum)
• Interpreter Training Program - 90 Days (Minimum)

Responsibilities

• Interpretation between physicians, nurses, volunteers, staff, patients and families.
• Maintain session statistics and handle service rounds and office duties.
• Assist volunteers within the Medical Center.
• Uphold professional standards and adhere to hospital policies.
