Job summary

The State of Oregon is hiring Teaching Assistants at the Oregon School for the Deaf in Salem. These multiple positions are part-time and pay between $20.28 and $27.33 hourly. The ideal candidates will assist deaf and hard of hearing students in achieving their educational goals.

Responsibilities include supporting teachers, ensuring student safety, and providing one-on-one assistance. Candidates must possess strong communication skills in American Sign Language (ASL) and a relevant educational background.

Qualifications

• Equivalent to a high school diploma and six months of experience with children.
• ASLPI level 3 required within 12 weeks of hire.
• Criminal history background check required.

Responsibilities

• Assist teachers with classroom tasks and students' plans.
• Monitor behavior and assist during transitions between classes.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety policies.

Skills

Ability to work with children
