Job summary

Kean University in Union, New Jersey invites applications for American Sign Language Adjunct Faculty to teach ASL courses in-person at the Union campus and online as needed.

Candidates must hold a master’s degree in ASL or related field, be native or near-native in ASL, and demonstrate cross-cultural communication skills. Adjuncts are non-tenure track and paid per credit under the collective bargaining agreement.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in American Sign Language, Deaf Studies or closely related field.
• Native or near-native fluency in ASL and strong communication skills.
• Proficiency with a Learning Management System.

Responsibilities

• Teach American Sign Language courses in person at the Union campus.
• Maintain availability outside of class each week and consider online classes when needed.
