Job summary

SLCC in Louisiana seeks an adjunct instructor to provide classroom and laboratory instruction in the Liberal Arts & Humanities area, delivering courses per approved syllabi and materials.

The role includes evaluating student progress, preparing course materials, advising students on academics and career paths, and participating in in-service activities while maintaining office hours and contributing to curriculum development.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in the subject to be taught or a Master’s with 18 graduate hours in the subject.
• Valid driver's license and background screening clearance.

Responsibilities

• Provide competent classroom and laboratory instruction in the area of credentialed expertise.
• Teach assigned classes in keeping with approved syllabi, outlines, and instructional materials.
• Evaluate the progress of students in all classes according to criteria.
• Prepare materials for academic administration when requested, including syllabi and catalog material.
• Participate in scheduled in-service activities.
• Provide academic and career advice to students and promote leadership experiences.
• Continue as competent instructor by seeking new knowledge and updating professional competencies.
• Ability to teach a student body diverse in age and background.
• Perform duties consistent with the role of an instructor plus curriculum development and meetings.
