Job summary

Oconer Family and Cosmetic Dentistry in Flemington, NJ, seeks an experienced Dental Assistant for a full-time, 32-hour week. You will chair-side assist the Dentist, take patient X-rays, sterilize, perform intra-oral scans, prepare rooms, and educate patients about procedures.

A valid NJ dental X-ray license is required; strong knowledge of dental terminology and instruments, plus excellent communication and a patient-first attitude are essential.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients, review medical histories, and ensure a comfortable experience.
• Record treatment information and update patient charts accurately; educate patients on care.
• Manage dental supply inventory and assist with ordering materials.

About the Role:

FULL-TIME opening for an experienced Dental Assistant for a well-established Dentist in a modern office located in Flemington, NJ. Main responsibilities include chair-side assisting of Dentist, taking patient X-rays, sterilization, intra-oral patient scanning, setting up rooms, and patient education. The ideal candidate must be an experienced Dental Assistant with a valid NJ dental X-ray license. Days are Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday, approximately 32 hours. This is a great opportunity to be part of a growing practice with a patient-oriented team!

Responsibilities:

• Assist the dentist chairside during a variety of dental procedures including restorative, cosmetic, and preventive treatments
• Prepare and sterilize dental instruments and treatment rooms between patients
• Take and develop dental X-rays (radiographs) as directed
• Greet patients, review medical histories, and ensure a comfortable patient experience
• Record treatment information and update patient charts accuratelyEducate patients on post-treatment care and proper oral hygiene practices
• Manage dental supply inventory and assist with ordering materials as needed

Requirements:

• Prior dental assisting experience preferred; recent graduates welcome to apply
• Dental radiography certification or willingness to obtain upon hire
• Knowledge of dental terminology, instruments, and procedures
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a patient-first attitude
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced clinical environment
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
