Job summary

Children of America is seeking an Assistant Teacher in Ohio to support early childhood classrooms. You will implement daily activities, document progress, and communicate with families in a nurturing setting.

You'll work with a collaborative team, grow professionally, and have opportunities to advance toward a Lead Teacher role while upholding COA's values and inclusive culture.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree not required; completion of basic childcare training preferred.
• Strong communication and relationship-building with families and staff.
• Ability to follow lesson plans and adapt to child needs.

Responsibilities

• Follow daily lesson plans and maintain a safe, structured learning environment.
• Document child progress using appropriate software and communicate with families.

Minimum Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

• Responsible for carrying out daily lesson plans
• Assist in creating a safe, structured, and positive learning environment
• Communicate professionally with parents, children, and team members
• Utilize technology to document and deliver child progress reports
• Exhibit empathy toward children's emotions and parents' needs
• Present age-appropriate expectations for children
• Be creative, passionate, and engaged in your work
• Demonstrate willingness to grow into a Lead Teacher role

The Hourly pay rate range for this position is $13.46- $14.54 hourly. Final compensation will be based on experience, skills, location, and internal equity. This role may also be eligible for performance-based incentives or other benefits.
