Job summary

Primis is seeking a physical design contractor in the San Jose, California area to support large, timing‑sensitive designs on leading‑edge nodes. You will run synthesis with Cadence Genus and help drive PPA optimization while building floorplans in Innovus and providing fast RTL feedback.

You will collaborate with RTL, architecture, PD, and external teams to close timing efficiently and accelerate convergence, ensuring high quality design implementation.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of physical design experience.
• Hands-on experience with Genus and Innovus.
• Understanding of timing closure and PD flow.

Responsibilities

• Run synthesis in Cadence Genus on large, timing-constrained designs.
• Drive PPA optimization through synthesis and early implementation.
• Build and refine floorplans in Cadence Innovus.
• Provide RTL teams with fast feedback on design quality, constraints, and architecture tradeoffs.
• Coordinate with external place-and-route teams on timing closure and PPA iteration.
• Catch and resolve timing bottlenecks early to speed convergence.

• Comfortable working across RTL, architecture, PD, and external implementation teams.
