Job summary

Fresno-Chaffee-Zoo is seeking a Zoological Animal Manager to lead animal care teams in the Asia West section, ensuring high welfare standards and safety. This full‑time role requires coordinating staff, implementing enrichment, and partnering with veterinary and maintenance teams to maintain exemplary care.

The ZAM-1/2 position emphasizes hands‑on leadership, compliance with FCZC and AZA policies, and clear communication with Curators and guests.

Qualifications

• AZA facility experience preferred.
• High School diploma required.
• Strong verbal and written English skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversees daily animal care staff in assigned sections.
• Ensures compliance with FCZC, AZA, USDA standards.
• Develops enrichment and training programs for animals.
• Schedules staff and manages performance feedback.
• Collaborates with veterinary, horticulture and maintenance teams.
