Job summary

Merck & Co. in Illinois seeks a Manufacturing Team Leader to supervise frontline personnel and manage daily production to deliver high-quality, compliant products in a Lean environment.

You will lead teams, communicate clearly across departments, and drive improvements in efficiency, safety, and product quality. Responsibilities include ensuring cGMP compliance, training staff, meeting production schedules and budgets, and addressing deviations with effective corrective actions.

Qualifications

• BS in biological sciences or related discipline.
• Two years supervisory experience.
• 3+ years bio/pharmaceutical manufacturing experience.
• Fundamental understanding and experience with cleanroom environments, aseptic manufacturing principles, and general packaging operations.
• Knowledge of 9CFR and current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs).
• Microbiological techniques and aseptic manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• Supervise personnel and ensure production meets quality, safety, and Lean principles.
• Provide leadership and accountability to meet production schedules and financial commitments.
• Ensure training for colleagues and safe operations.
• Investigate process excursions/deviations and implement corrective actions.
• Plan production and personnel; support filling, packaging, and site functions.
• Represent department interests with higher management and related groups.
