Job description

3rd Shift

HOURS: 11:00pm - 7:30am; Sunday - Thursday / Monday - Friday

Tech I Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for equipment setup and operation in a biologics processing environment for plasma-derived pharmaceuticals.
  • Class A/B gowning qualified for facility cleaning of fill suites.
  • Operate support fill equipment such as glass inspection stations, rinser/tunnel, VAM, and over sealer.
  • Load carts with vials or syringes.
  • Perform SIP/PBC Operations and filter integrity testing.
  • Prepare chemical solutions for production use.
  • Adhere strictly to Department safety rules.
  • Perform material handling and glass inspection activities.
  • Maintain detailed facility housekeeping, cleaning, sanitization, and disinfection.
  • Operate motorized transport equipment for moving supplies.
  • Document in real-time during production runs and maintain accurate records/logs.
  • Monitor and operate various computer control systems (e.g., SCADA and Andover).
Tech II Responsibilities:
  • Perform all duties as Tech I, with the ability to setup and operate fill equipment independently in an aseptic environment.
  • Demonstrate department-specific aseptic techniques.
  • Operate and monitor final container lyophilization, heat treatment, pasteurization, and cold box.
  • Operate filter integrity testers.
  • Prepare and label samples according to BPR and non-routine requests.
  • Interpret and utilize information from support systems.
  • Assist with training less experienced technicians.
  • Maintain aseptic gowning qualification and media fill certification.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

Good math and mechanical aptitude, ability to perform skills in an aseptic environment, experience in high-volume manufacturing preferred, ability to work as part of a team, lift up to 50 pounds, and perform continuous standing, walking, and bending. Off-shift and overtime work may be necessary.

Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • One year of highly regulated manufacturing experience or relevant degree, or completion of the Bioworks Certification Program preferred.
  • For Tech II, at least one year of experience as an Aseptic Filling Technician.
Work Environment & Safety:

Work is performed in a manufacturing environment with rotating shifts, biological fluids exposure, chemicals, electrical equipment, moving machinery, high noise levels, and occasional confined spaces. Personal protective equipment is required. The job involves sitting, standing, bending, hand movements, lifting, and reaching. Good hearing and vision are essential, along with effective communication skills.
